Tactile and engaging.

Conceived as a tactile journey, the store draws customers into a world shaped by natural textures, live greenery and earthy tones, creating an atmosphere that feels grounded, approachable and unmistakably Merry People.

At the heart of the store, a central display with live planting anchors the space, while generous seating, full-height mirrors and an informal point of sale encourage customers to slow down, try on boots and engage.

“The design for Merry People’s store centres on creating a warm and approachable interior that evokes a sense of being in nature, bringing the outside in. The space draws on familiar, tactile experiences – gumboots stepping across river stones, hands in the soil picking vegetables, the steady rhythm of a nature hike.

Materials, texture and colour are used to create a sensorial environment that feels grounded and natural, transporting customers away from the bustle of the city while intuitively showcasing the Merry People products.”

The heritage shell provides a quiet backdrop for a gallery-like retail experience, where refined, minimal displays allow the brand’s colourful products to take centre stage without distraction.

Referencing the brand’s Gippsland origins, the interior weaves together timber, stone and recycled rubber – telling a story of beginnings at farmers markets and an ongoing commitment to sustainability.
