Queens’ design strikes a balance between transportive escapism and an approachable everyday retreat. Guests can take in sweeping views of the boats and waterfront, while submerged in a timeless ambiance that seeks to blend nostalgia with refinement.
“We used timber to anchor the space with warmth and organic texture, and contrasted rustic stone with the sleek glazing. Luxurious velvet curtains and antique brass finishes creates an inviting ambiance that blends comfort and sophistication”
– Bianca Baldi, Associate, Interior Designer

“We wanted to create a stand-out design that would be the capstone to the building’s transformation. The materials we have chosen will develop a rich patina so the design will evolve and transform as the venue settles into the Auckland hospitality environment”.
– Justin Northrop, Director

The rooftop’s adaptable spaces cater to diverse needs, from social gatherings to intimate dinners. The detailing balance textured layers with curated sophistication — bronze accents, warm timbers, and checkered motifs.
Subtle nods to Auckland Harbour’s nautical essence infuse the design, from porthole shapes to striped patterns and patina finishes.

Every element has been carefully considered to reflect the surroundings. The layout, furnishings and design motifs mirror the simple curvature of the harbour and sea vessels. The architectural detailing honours these fluid lines, from the sinuous bar face to the arched kitchen pass and curved circular ice-well for displaying fresh local seafood from the raw bar.
