+ Studio News: A note from the Directors

Welcome to the December issue of our Technē newsletter as we stand on the cusp of the festive season! We have a lot of exciting projects underway, and we’re thrilled to show the on-site progress of one of our residential project in regional NSW. Our latest work also includes several retail and hospitality projects in Melbourne, rural Victoria and interstate, such as shopping centre projects Canberra Centre (highlighted below), Box Hill, and Watergardens. These projects have garnered positive attention in recent press coverage, which you can explore in this Shopping Centre News article. In other news, our Associate Director Sam Sempill launched a new cookbook called Eat Lao, expressing her cultural heritage through food. Portarlington Grand Hotel and All Saint Estate’s KIN Restaurant have both received prestigious awards in their respective sectors. Read on to find out more! + Project Update: Regional homestead

Work continues on this stunning estate in Regional NSW, where we aim to strike a balance between restoration of the existing homestead and the addition of several contemporary pavilion structures. The new structures celebrate the surroundings by framing the picturesque vistas across gardens, farmland and the nearby Murray River.

 

+ Recent Project Spotlight: Canberra Centre

Canberra Centre embodies contemporary public precinct design, by expertly utilising space in public areas, offering moments of surprise and delight moments, with seamless indoor-outdoor integration with lush landscape design.

Applying non-traditional solutions to blurring the boundaries between tenancies and public space, our refurbishment of the centre’s Tiger Lane has transformed the visitor experience from a sedate shopping mall to a more engaging environment.

+ KIN at All Saints Estate: New Regional Restaurant of the Year in Good Food Guide

A massive congratulations to KIN Restaurant at All Saints, who has been awarded New Regional Restaurant of the Year in the highly acclaimed Good Food Guide of The Age.

The All Saints project was a pleasure to work on and we’re thrilled to see their team receive this type of recognition.

If you haven’t already, make sure to take a daytrip to Wahgunyah to experience it for yourself.

 

+ Portarlington Grand Hotel: Best Redeveloped Hotel in Australia

The Portarlington Grand Hotel has been awarded the ‘Best Redeveloped Hotel’ for Australia at the AHA National Awards for Excellence – this is a huge achievement in the hospitality sector.

It’s an honour to have been part of their redevelopment story, bringing life back to this icon of the Bellarine Peninsula.

+ Team Member News: Lizzy Wang is a registered Architect!

We would like to give a big shout out to Lizzy Wang, who has successfully completed the long and challenging process of registration. We’re so happy to announce she is officially a registered Architect!

Not only is this a professional achievement, but also a massive personal one, knowing how dedicated and diligent Lizzy has been throughout the entire process.

We’re so proud of her, and excited to see her future career unfold.
