Hello + welcome to our latest edition of the Technē newsletter. We have been busy here in the studio, here’s an update on what we’ve been working on.
+ Studio News: An update from the Directors
The year is in full swing, and the Technē studio is abuzz with activity as we craft new designs for bars and restaurants, while wrapping up two recent house projects on site. We’re thrilled to announce that one of our projects has been shortlisted for the Australian Institute of Architecture Awards! Clients have already begun enjoying their new space on Bank St, and we’ve had the opportunity to visit our Kirra Beach Hotel project in Queensland. And that’s not all – we’re excited to congratulate Matt Chai and Kelly Wong on their recent promotions.
Keep reading for all the details!
Sincerely,
Nick, Justin and Steve.
+ All Saints Estate – Shortlisted
Photography: Tom Blachford
Our All Saints project has been shortlisted in the Australian Institute of Architecture Awards within the Heritage category! Originally established in 1864, the new works were opened fully in early 2023. Our approach was guided by a deep respect for the past and a commitment to honouring the family’s rich winemaking heritage. By seamlessly blending tradition with innovation, we’ve created a space that celebrates the past and embraces the future. We’d like to wish the best of luck to all shortlisted projects and thank the Australian Institute of Architecture for the nomination.
+ Project Update: Bank St Residence
Our cherished residential project on Bank Street has reached its conclusion and we couldn’t be happier to see the project in its finished state. This project is very close to our hearts, many hands have come together to bring the Bank St vision to life. We wish our clients all the best as they settle into their new home.
+ Kirra Beach Hotel
We had the honour last month to visit our beloved pub venue – Kirra Beach Hotel and Kirra Beach House project in Queensland. It’s always an amazing moment to revisit beloved projects. The Kirra Beach project is all about embracing the local spirit and making everyone feel right at home. We integrated the venue into Kirra’s coastal identity, celebrating its surf culture and laidback lifestyle.
