Poacher & Hound

The space is imagined as the found sanctuary of a harsh terrain traveller, creating refined resources which are of the land. A collector (interpreted as a less pillaging version of a poacher), a point, and a traveller (hound), a line, are translated as a graphic element into the space.

The floor and wall planes are reduced to minimal, light and gridded elements allowing the textured objects space. Earthy tones of terracotta, brick tiles and granite gravel are used for heavier texture and colour, and rattan and planting contrast. Brass objects scattered throughout the space are found treasured pieces, bridging between the natural elements and the fine graphic elements. Architectural texture creates shadow in the soft pleated counter, stone shelving and finer shadow in the offset overhead shelving structure and rattan layer wrapping the planters and acoustic ceiling.
